Help Save the World With Renewable Energy

Renewable energy is our only chance...

Renewable energy is our only chance. That might sound harsh, but it's the truth. If we continue to rely on oil and other current forms of energy production, there will be severe consequences. While there are many reasons for our gashouse emission problems, oil is the number one culprit. And why do we continue to use oil? Profits. If we don't change, our own greed will lead to our demise. That's amazing to think about. The dinosaurs were supposedly extinct by a meteor; they had no chance. Do you think they would have killed themselves if they had the opportunity? Of course not. Only humans even understand the concept of greed.

The irony is that oil isn't just an environmental problem, but also an economic one. That said, there are a few ways to look at this. Some would say that if oil reaches over $100 per barrel in this economic environment, we'll enter a depression. Others state that if oil goes over $100 per barrel, it will once again motivate people to look into renewable energy. Therefore, it could be a blessing in disguise.

Instead of focusing on the negative, let's ask ourselves what we can do about this problem. And this problem isn't just oil, but electricity, gas, and the like. What can be done is every little thing possible. If everyone makes an effort, there's a chance we will be able to reverse course. For instance, don't leave the outside light on in the evening. If you're going to read a book, consider using a candle. Don't leave the television on if you're not watching it. An even more common and worse habit is to leave the computer on overnight. Try to get energy-saving light bulbs. They're often cheaper and last longer. Look into battery-powered cars and lawn mowers. Batteries aren't the best option for the environment, either, but they're the lesser of two evils right now. If you spend a lot of time in the cold and use a space heater - otherwise known as a portable heater - to keep warm, switch to a fire pit. A fire pit can provide even more heat, costs less, and will last much longer. Most importantly, you won't need to charge it.

Wind and solar are by far the most popular forms of renewable energy on the horizon. Can you imagine a world that's not reliant on foreign oil, and all forms of energy are renewable? This is a real possibility and one that you might see in your lifetime. If you want to take your first steps towards helping the environment, go out today and buy those energy-saving light bulbs and fire pits, and tell your friends to do the same. It will make a difference.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Renewable Energy

With the rising costs of fuel, fuel oil, and electricity these days many people are beginning to wonder what the advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy are. Some wonder if it is worth considering them for home use, and some are even beginning to seriously consider using renewable energy to help reduce their power bill.

The main advantage of using renewable energy sources, is obvious when you think about the word, renewable. Renewable means it will never run out, at least not for billions of years when the sun burns out. Another advantage, and everyone should like this, they are free to everyone that wishes to use them, and if you produce an excessive amount of power, you can sell it back to the power company. As you can see, this can be a very huge advantage.

Other advantages are they reduce the need for fossil fuels which, we all know are known to pollute the earth as well as break down the ozone layer. The longer we continue to use these types of fuel the more the atmosphere gets polluted and the more the ozone layer gets broken down. The more the ozone layer gets broken down, the more of the suns harmful radiation gets through, and if it continues, eventually the earth will become unlivable.

Of course the chance of that happening in our life time is slim however, do you really want your children's children to grow up in a toxic world that has no chance of recovery. This is where we are headed if we do not change our ways, and it is not just the atmosphere we need to worry about.

So, as far as advantages go, we have the advantage of them being non exhaustible as long as the sun burns, they are free or can even make money for anyone that implements them, and last, but most important, they are environmentally friendly.

Now let us take a look at some of the disadvantages of using renewable energy sources. Cost of implementation could be a disadvantage, if it was not for the advancements made in technology in the past decade which, make implementation affordable. Once implemented you can recover the implementation costs within a few years with the money you will save on the power bill. If your system makes more power than you use, and you sell the extra back to the power company, you will recoup the cost even faster.

I sit here and try to think about disadvantages but, my mind draws a blank as there really are no disadvantages. Using the sun or wind for energy is free to everyone, they do not pollute, and they can actually make you money so, it is a win-win situation for everyone as well as for the environment.

So, what in the world, are you waiting for; start using these free renewable energy sources now then, when the non-renewable sources run out, and they will, you will not be left in the dark like the rest of the world. Click here and discover what I used to help implement the use of solar power, and now I am working on implementing the use of wind power as well.

What is about Renewable Energy?

About Renewable Energy:

Renewable energy on the other hand quickly replaces itself and is usually available in a never-ending supply.Renewable energy comes from the natural flow of sunlight, wind,or water around the Earth. With the help of special collectors, we can capture some of this energy and put it to use in our homes and businesses.
As long as sunlight, water and wind continue to flow and trees and other plants
continue to grow, we have access to a ready of supply of energy.
