Renewable Energy and Perpetual Motion Machines

Generally speaking, perpetual motion machines cannot really exist, because they violate the very laws that make the universe work - in other word, if a perpetual motion device works, then the universe cannot work, because the fundamental laws of physics no longer apply. In a universe where perpetual motion machines exist, stars would find it impossible to exist, and even time would not flow in one direction, but might even flow 'randomly' - in any case, in such a universe, life would find it almost impossible to evolve, and therefore there would be no one to write this paragraph.

Therefore, a perpetual motion machine in a universe that actually contains a life form capable of writing this paragraph is unlikely. So all that remains is to take a closer look at just why perpetual motion machines are so difficult to construct or to operate in our universe.

There are three fundamental laws of thermodynamics that make life possible both for biological life, as well as for the more complex non biological processes in the universe, such as the fusion reactions that power and make possible the life and death of stars. These same laws make perpetual motion machines impossible to create.

The first law is that of conservation of energy - what this means, in short, is that energy cannot be created from 'nothing' and neither can it be 'destroyed'. What this means is that there is no 'magic' generator that can create energy - any energy has to come from a definite source, and the source of energy in truly viable energy generator is usually easy to identify and to measure accurately and unlike in 'perpetual motion machines' is never, ever 'infinite'. Even a nuclear reactor, which seems to create energy out of 'nothing' actually uses matter itself as a fuel, breaking down the very bonds between the atoms to release massive amounts of energy. Similarly, watches that work on barometric pressure and temperature gradients are actually drawing ambient energy directly from their environment. There is nothing 'magic' about them, and in this day and age no one would be burned at the stake simply for creating a watch that works on ambient temperatures.

The second and third laws of physics are rather similar, in that they state that any working system suffers a continuous loss of energy - generally speaking any system that uses any kind of fuel will waste some of the fuel in the course of its own working. This means that any system in this universe 'winds down' over time - while perpetual motion machines are supposed to be able to continue to run forever. And these laws actually makes a lot of sense if you think about them - of course any working system is going to need some energy just to work. So, in other words, the output of any energy generator is always slightly less than the energy present in the fuel that goes into it. This system, while seemingly wasteful, is the cornerstone upon which many of the universe's systems function, from your personal computer to fire at the heart of the home star.

Investing in Clean and Renewable Energy

Nowadays, anywhere on the planet, the needs of power increases in demand and so is its price. This is because the population of the world has also increases, more people means more power is needed to power homes, cities and more power needed for production plants to produce conventional power. Huge portions of the world population are struggling to cope for their everyday living, of course this includes the monthly bills, and one of it is the monthly energy bill.

Isn't it nice if we can save money from this monthly energy bill? Of course it has a good advantage.

Is there a way we can achieve this goal? The good news is, there is a way. The sunlight is free energy. It has an abundant and unlimited supply. If we can convert this energy to power our homes, then that's the start of our savings. To start, we build our own solar power system to power our homes, we can save a lot of money in the long term while enjoying clean energy.

But is it a good investment?

While most of the people who are not familiar with solar energy, they think that it is expensive to build and don't even realize that they can build it, themselves. You do not need to be a scientist or a geek in order to build your own solar panels at home, yourself. These solar panels and solar power system kits are already available and affordable. You can buy these kits and start building your own solar energy system. A kit comes with an easy-to-follow construction guide of the solar panels, so you can build it easily and safely. This is really a good investment to take on, as when this system is setup and running you are now start reducing your monthly electric bill. If, in the coming months or a year you have a goal of building more solar panels so you can produce more power, eventually you will be free from your monthly electric bill. Moreover, if you are producing more than what you need, you can sell this extra power to the power utility company, hence, you are earning from it.

This type of technology is already affordable to the common people, not just for the rich. Today, we all can enjoy a clean and renewable energy.

We want our planet to restore to its natural condition. Let us help the earth by using renewable and clean energy. There is an alternative source of energy which is free and with unlimited resource, visit BuildYourOwnSolarPanels.org for more information. Let us help our planet and save it for future generation.

Google Looking Forward for Renewable Energy!

Google Invests in Two Wind Farms:

Google Inc. has invested $38.8 million in two North Dakota wind farms, the Internet giant's first direct investment in utility-scale renewable energy generation.
The Mountain View, Calif., company said in a Monday blog post that it invested in wind farms built by NextEra Energy Resources, a unit of FPL Group Inc. The wind turbines, made by General Electric Co., generate 169.5 megawatts of power, enough to serve more than 55,000 homes.

The investment marks a departure from Google's initial approach to renewable energy, which focused on investing in early-stage renewable energy companies such as BrightSource Energy, eSolar and AltaRock, which are developing new solar, wind and geothermal power technologies.

Google said it is investing directly in energy projects to accelerate the deployment of the latest clean energy technology, while providing attractive returns to Google and more capital for developers to build additional projects.

"We're aiming to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy—in a way that makes good business sense, too," wrote Rick Needham, Google's green business operations manager.

Google's stakes in the wind farms are in the form of "tax equity" investments, in which investors take over a project and use federal tax credits granted to the project to offset their own taxes as a return.

NextEra said it sold approximately $190 million of Class B membership interests in the two wind farms, with Google's stake represents about 20% of the Class B shares. The companies didn't immediately disclose the other investors.

The projects include a 120-megawatt wind farm in Barnes County, N.D., called Ashtabula 2, and a 49.5-megawatt wind facility called Wilton Wind 2, in Burleigh County, N.D.

The output from the facilities, which have been operating since last year, are being sold to utilities under power purchase agreements. A Google spokesman said the electricity generated by the wind farms wouldn't be used to power any of the company's data centers.

While Google's NextEra investment is not intended to finance any expansion at Ashtabula and Wilton, the Internet giant hopes its investment will enable the energy group to invest in additional wind power projects.

The wind farms are among more than 10,000 megawatts of wind power facilities built across the U.S. in 2009, according to the American Wind Energy Association. NextEra, which owns more than 7,500 megawatts of wind farms, is the nation's top wind power generator. The company also owns nearly 12,000 megawatts of mostly nuclear and natural-gas fired power generation.

In California, where Google is headquartered, utilities are required to use renewable sources for a fifth of the power they sell by the end of this year, with the mandate set to expand to one-third renewables by 2020 under pending regulations. Thirty-one other states and Washington, D.C., have renewable power requirements or goals, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

In 2008, about 7% of U.S. power supplies came from renewable sources, with about 7% of that amount from wind, according to the DOE.

Help Save the World With Renewable Energy

Renewable energy is our only chance...

Renewable energy is our only chance. That might sound harsh, but it's the truth. If we continue to rely on oil and other current forms of energy production, there will be severe consequences. While there are many reasons for our gashouse emission problems, oil is the number one culprit. And why do we continue to use oil? Profits. If we don't change, our own greed will lead to our demise. That's amazing to think about. The dinosaurs were supposedly extinct by a meteor; they had no chance. Do you think they would have killed themselves if they had the opportunity? Of course not. Only humans even understand the concept of greed.

The irony is that oil isn't just an environmental problem, but also an economic one. That said, there are a few ways to look at this. Some would say that if oil reaches over $100 per barrel in this economic environment, we'll enter a depression. Others state that if oil goes over $100 per barrel, it will once again motivate people to look into renewable energy. Therefore, it could be a blessing in disguise.

Instead of focusing on the negative, let's ask ourselves what we can do about this problem. And this problem isn't just oil, but electricity, gas, and the like. What can be done is every little thing possible. If everyone makes an effort, there's a chance we will be able to reverse course. For instance, don't leave the outside light on in the evening. If you're going to read a book, consider using a candle. Don't leave the television on if you're not watching it. An even more common and worse habit is to leave the computer on overnight. Try to get energy-saving light bulbs. They're often cheaper and last longer. Look into battery-powered cars and lawn mowers. Batteries aren't the best option for the environment, either, but they're the lesser of two evils right now. If you spend a lot of time in the cold and use a space heater - otherwise known as a portable heater - to keep warm, switch to a fire pit. A fire pit can provide even more heat, costs less, and will last much longer. Most importantly, you won't need to charge it.

Wind and solar are by far the most popular forms of renewable energy on the horizon. Can you imagine a world that's not reliant on foreign oil, and all forms of energy are renewable? This is a real possibility and one that you might see in your lifetime. If you want to take your first steps towards helping the environment, go out today and buy those energy-saving light bulbs and fire pits, and tell your friends to do the same. It will make a difference.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Renewable Energy

With the rising costs of fuel, fuel oil, and electricity these days many people are beginning to wonder what the advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy are. Some wonder if it is worth considering them for home use, and some are even beginning to seriously consider using renewable energy to help reduce their power bill.

The main advantage of using renewable energy sources, is obvious when you think about the word, renewable. Renewable means it will never run out, at least not for billions of years when the sun burns out. Another advantage, and everyone should like this, they are free to everyone that wishes to use them, and if you produce an excessive amount of power, you can sell it back to the power company. As you can see, this can be a very huge advantage.

Other advantages are they reduce the need for fossil fuels which, we all know are known to pollute the earth as well as break down the ozone layer. The longer we continue to use these types of fuel the more the atmosphere gets polluted and the more the ozone layer gets broken down. The more the ozone layer gets broken down, the more of the suns harmful radiation gets through, and if it continues, eventually the earth will become unlivable.

Of course the chance of that happening in our life time is slim however, do you really want your children's children to grow up in a toxic world that has no chance of recovery. This is where we are headed if we do not change our ways, and it is not just the atmosphere we need to worry about.

So, as far as advantages go, we have the advantage of them being non exhaustible as long as the sun burns, they are free or can even make money for anyone that implements them, and last, but most important, they are environmentally friendly.

Now let us take a look at some of the disadvantages of using renewable energy sources. Cost of implementation could be a disadvantage, if it was not for the advancements made in technology in the past decade which, make implementation affordable. Once implemented you can recover the implementation costs within a few years with the money you will save on the power bill. If your system makes more power than you use, and you sell the extra back to the power company, you will recoup the cost even faster.

I sit here and try to think about disadvantages but, my mind draws a blank as there really are no disadvantages. Using the sun or wind for energy is free to everyone, they do not pollute, and they can actually make you money so, it is a win-win situation for everyone as well as for the environment.

So, what in the world, are you waiting for; start using these free renewable energy sources now then, when the non-renewable sources run out, and they will, you will not be left in the dark like the rest of the world. Click here and discover what I used to help implement the use of solar power, and now I am working on implementing the use of wind power as well.

What is about Renewable Energy?

About Renewable Energy:

Renewable energy on the other hand quickly replaces itself and is usually available in a never-ending supply.Renewable energy comes from the natural flow of sunlight, wind,or water around the Earth. With the help of special collectors, we can capture some of this energy and put it to use in our homes and businesses.
As long as sunlight, water and wind continue to flow and trees and other plants
continue to grow, we have access to a ready of supply of energy.
